ZAK EMERSON

Zak studied Fine Art Painting at Central Saint Martins in London. He began his TV career as a storyboard artist and creative assistant under legendary ad man, Paul Arden at ASD. Zak soon turned his attention to the camera and his first film “Suspended” won the prestigious Stella Artois best short film award. And so the love affair with film began.

Zak has directed award-winning commercials for client such as Adidas, Toyota, Three, Heineken, Nikon and HSBC. In 2012, his Heineken “Faking Of” spot smashed the ‘making of’ genre landing awards including Cannes Lion Silver and Eurobest Grand Prix. And his heart-warming family-focused spot for Toyota won a merit award at The One Show. His latest short film, The Ballad of Langley Lane, is currently on the festival circuit and showcases his talent for directing powerful, emotional drama.

Zak’s attention to detail, his ability to find the beauty in the everyday and his epic, cinematic, visual style make him a master storyteller.

When Zak is not working he’s running ultra marathons or off-piste snowboarding in the Arctic Circle.
